Default Enemies now drop items when fighting each other in FoW (after 6/15)

After the 6/15 update, did anyone notice that the enemies now drop items for players even if they are fighting each other and you dont attack them in FoW?

A friend told me this, so we went in and did a chest run to try it, and I got 2 shards and a bunch of other stuff like limbs and remains.

I'm sure it works in other areas where enemies fight each other too.

I really hope they meant to do this and it's not a bug they are going to fix but... there's really no reason to add this feature, so I'm sure its just a bug.

Perhaps this is related: Henchmen are dropping gold when they die. One dropped 596 gold.

I also found a green just sitting on the floor.

This looks like a bug to me. I hope it's not a rollback-worthy one.

cool, maybe if I go out with the henches now, they'll start coughing up all those items they never use but get assigned to them. lol

Just got to watch Alesia, shes a gold hoarder. Party wipe and the other henchies dropped around 200 gold, she dropped 600. And for the hencie drops they drop the gold that was shared in the party. More for me.

im gonna guess this is a bug. i went into FoW solo a few times with just running skills to check this out. ran right to the area where the shadows fight the skeletals and started picking up the freebies a couple minutes later. decided to lead the rest of the skeletals over to the shadows for more obsidian goodness - ended up with 10 shards in about an hour to an hour and a half.

as it stands, its well worth the 1k fee to get in. i only died once without getting a shard, and most times, i suicided after i had lead all the skeles over and picked up all the drops. once you get the run TO the door down, theres really not much skill involved (although leading groups with icehands is tricky). maybe ill learn the spider solo farming build and do both, although im sure this is much faster (can do a run in 10 to 15min depending on how fast you can get the skeletals over).

anyway, im gonna guess theyll fix this or a) every whammo or ranger will be farming shards 24/7 or b) shards will drop to about 50gold each! so enjoy it while it lasts .... or until its officially labeled an exploit.

You can get the Naga to farm you a Geoffers Bulwark. Handy if you haven't got one yet.

It's got to be a bug that will be fixed, otherwise you farm for a green, it doesn't drop, get henchies killed, they drop it. Yea right

The henchies only drop gold.

The bad guys will however kill each other and you can grab the loot XD

Well known conflict zones:

Snake Dance: Dwarves vs Trolls vs Stone Summit
FoW: Skeleton Army vs Shadow Army
Iron Mines of Moladune: Dwarves VS White Mantle
Defend Droknar's Forge: Avicara vs Titans

get some popcorn and enjoy the fights!

Hey all... YOU drop gold when you die too!

For real!

Someone needs to test and see if it lowers the gold in your inventory however.

Add pretty much every Luxon Area into that list as well. The outcasts basically fight everyone.

I don't think so... it may have been intended to allow battling enemies to drop things (hey, why not... if people want to farm fighting enemy groups they'll have to spend time to wait for the battle, which will actually slow their farming down...) but it may be an unintended side effect of the henchies dropping gold. However, the henches are not farmable. They only drop what they collected and when you pick it up you share it back. Consecutive hench deaths reduce their drop... the third death they're dropping one or two gold, hardly worth the effort to get them repeatedly killed.

It's likely a bug, but hardly significant.

Although... it could cause fights when the Coldfires and Smites battle it out in the UW... My ECTO! No, Mine! Mine!

Actually it is much much faster than normal farming. Level 28+ Critters can kill each other at an amazing speed. And well, basically all you've got to do is run around, go afk for 2 minutes, come back and collect items well worth several plat with the occasional green item inbetween.

/edit:
Another sideeffect is, your farmcount is not affected as you didn't actually kill the enemies... just picked up the items.
